Brocaire Parson Jack Russell Terriers Brocaire means "Terrier" in the Irish language My name is Christine O'Grady, I have been breeding and showing Parson Jack Russell Terriers (known as Parson Russell Terriers by theAKC) for over eight years now. I am a very small breeder in central Connecticut; I am concerned with the health and genetics of my dogs and as such, all breeding stock is BAER and CERF tested. My husband and my family are all from Ireland. I fell in love with the Parson type Jack Russell on my first trip over to Ireland in 1985. Although the short legged Russell is more common in Ireland, true terriermen keep the Parson type that I am so fond of. In Irish folklore, Tír na nÓg (pronounced TEER na nOg) is the mystical land of eternal youth; a place where our loved ones and pets never die; the sun is always shining and everyone is happy (and laughing)...eternally. I chose the name Brocaire for my Jacks because of my love for all things Irish. I truly believe in TirnanOg; I know all my pets will one day meet me in that land of eternal youth. I love laughing and nothing makes me laugh more than a mischievous little Jack Russell. They can really get themselves into situations, so you must have a sense of humor if you wish to live with these guys!!! As mentioned, I am a small breeder. My dogs are raised in my home with my family. My three children help whelp and raise the puppies. We breed for temperament, movement and type .... in that order. I have been breeding Parson (Jack) Russell Terriers since 1999 and I am sill learning. All Breeding Stock is BAER Tested, CERF Clear and AKC Registered |
